Sailing Boots

Dubarry's sailing footwear is enjoyed and trusted by sailors worldwide. Our reputation for designing and producing great kit continues to set the benchmark for on board performance, style and quality.

We have always listened to what sailors need from their kit, and it was from this approach that Crosshaven was born. This fantastic boot is gaining a reputation as the very best out there, and is the pinnacle of our several years experience in footwear design and manufacture.

Dubarry Sailing Boots, Sports Shoes, Deck Shoes and Casual Footwear all benefit from our award-winning sole system. The Dubarry NonSlip – NonMarking™ outsole, was born out of a brief to Dubarry's in–house design team to produce ‘the best non–slip rubber outsole for grip on deck'. The result of that research and design work is a sole system that significantly reduces the potential for aquaplaning or slipping and is trusted by sailors around the world.

Country Boots

Dubarry have been making footwear for over 75 years, so we know a thing or two about creating boots and shoes that perform when you need them to. Our technical expertise, combined with a respect and understanding of nature, allows us to take superior quality leathers, waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX® product technology and specially-designed soles to craft footwear that keeps you warm, dry and comfortable. Add some unique Irish design flair and you have a pair of boots or shoes that not only protect but impress with head-turning style.

Rigorously tested in a wide variety of outdoor pursuits, whether it's relaxing after a day on the ski slopes, walking the dog, on the riverbank (or the shallows), around the yard, on a shoot, cheering from the side lines at Saturday morning hockey or rugby, strolling on the beach, at the muddiest festival or in the garden, you can tread confidently. Of course, your Dubarry boots look just as good around town too.

Dubarry Soles

One of the features that has established Dubarry as a leading footwear producer is the award winning sole system.

Specifically developed by Dubarry, the sole is directly moulded to the upper to create one piece, with no gluing or stitching, giving a perfect seal to keep out water. It has a durable rubber outsole and springy EVA innersole for lightweight optimal comfort. The soles on our Country Boots are also designed to be ‘stirrup friendly' for light equestrian use and have also been rigorously tested for all outdoor pursuits. Dubarry Country boots also perform superbly in snow.

Our Leather

Our Leather

The leather used for Dubarry of Ireland footwear, is specially treated and absorbs less moisture, requiring 70% less time to dry, compared to other leather types. It also ensures that your Dubarry footwear will always be soft and supple. The leather is the full cowhide with all its naturally occurring imperfections, providing the boots with that rugged, 'lived-in' look.

Dubarry footwear is made to last, using the finest quality leather that ensures high performance and protection.  But all leather needs care, and with a little time and the right treatments, your footwear will stay supple and waterproof, whatever you do in yours.

Important information about our leather

Yard manure, waste liquids and salt water can be very corrosive to leather. To prolong performance and protection for your Dubarry footwear, always scrub them with a soft brush and rinse with fresh tap water after exposure.

When storing your boots you should follow these guidelines.

  1. Boots should be cleaned, dried and treated before storing for a prolonged period
  2. Boots will keep better shape over time when Dubarry boot trees are inserted
